On Saturday, February 21, 2015 Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and a congressional delegation visited Zanmi Beni. According to the Pelosi Statement on Congressional Delegation’s Visit to Haiti, the delegation “… learned of the great work the Zamni Beni Foundation is doing to provide a home and care for children who were displaced after the devastating 2010 earthquake.”

A celebration of Baptism for the 64 children of Zanmi Beni was held on December 21, 2014. The beautiful ceremony was held on the grounds of Zanmi Beni – “A Place to Call Home” and witnessed by over 150 friends and guests. Music and singing was lead by the children, all dressed in white baptismal dresses or suits. Friars from the Southern Dominican Province presided over the ceremony. Over 100 people gathered at Calamari Restaurant in Coconut Grove on September 25, 2014 to support Zanmi Beni. This year's annual dinner was hosted by Carolyn Borlenghi Harris and Malena Giro. Funds raised at this festive dinner provided for back packs, books, school supplies and school uniforms for the children of Zanmi Beni. Grateful thanks to all who participated!
